The day brought together 25 people to share their thoughts and ideas on food chain education. Besides participants of the RCE food working group and other staff from the Centre for Alternative Technology, Organic Centre Wales, Swansea University and Glyndwr University, there were teaching staff and students from Coleg Powys, growers, retailers, caterers and community development workers from the Newtown area.
The group contained a mix of ages from 18 to over 60, levels of education from school leaver to college lecturer, ten men and 15 women, and a range of involvement with food from hands-on to academic.
Together we explored food chain education from all angles – where we start from, what inspires and motivates us, where we would like to be, how we think education might get us there.
